Cannabis salad dressing

January is a month to focus on health and wellness. Many of us try to set our intentions for the year and get back on track with our healthy eating habits and exercise routine. But, getting back into the swing of healthy eating isn’t easy following the holidays. We often over-indulge during the holidays which makes it harder to refocus in January. Salad is a go-to healthy meal or side dish, but how many people genuinely like salad? With Miss Envy’s THC olive oil you can make almost any salad more fun by making your own cannabis salad dressing. And it’s super easy.

Realistically you could simply drizzle the THC olive oil over your salad with a bit of balsamic vinegar and call it a day. But here we will provide a recipe for a basic vinaigrette dressing with some easy and tasty variations to make your salad delicious every time.

Cannabis Salad Dressing: Vinaigrette

We have a basic vinaigrette dressing and a basic creamy vinaigrette dressing which are the go-to salad dressings for us. Then with a few added ingredients, you can make so many creative and tasty cannabis salad dressings. Once you’ve got the basics down, we encourage you to experiment with different spices and see what you like best.

Makes approximately 1/4 cup

Basic Vinaigrette

3 tablespoons oil (see dosage notes below for mixing Miss Envy’s THC olive oil with regular olive oil)
2 tablespoons vinegar (either white, cider, or wine, not balsamic)
black pepper (freshly ground is ideal)

Italian Vinaigrette

basic vinaigrette (use red wine vinegar)
1/2 teaspoon minced garlice
1/2 teaspoon italian seasoning
1 pinch crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Mustard Dressing

italian vinagrette
1 teaspoon prepared mustard (recommend Dijon or spicy brown)
1-3 teaspoons honey or another sweetener to taste (optional)

Basic Creamy Vinaigrette Dressing

basic vinaigrette
2-3 tablespoons sour cream or plain yogurt

Parmesan-Pepper Dressing

basic cream vinaigrette dressing
1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese
1/8 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper, to taste

Creamy Garlic Dressing

basic creamy vinaigrette dressing
1 garlic clove put through a press
fresh ground black pepper
1 pinch italian seasoning (optional)

Balsamic Vinaigrette

3 tablespoons oil (see dosage notes below for mixing Miss Envy’s THC olive oil with regular olive oil)
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
1 pinch italian seasoning (optional)

Dosage Notes:

3 tablespoons of Miss Envy’s THC olive oil is 132mg of THC. Since, 1/4 cup is 4 tablespoons and generally, people use approximately 2 tablespoons of dressing each that would be 66mg of THC per person.

At Envy, we recommend starting with a dose of 5-10mg per person, therefore you should start with 1 teaspoon of Miss Evvy’s coconut oil mixed with regular olive oil to total 3 tablespoons (8 teaspoons of regular olive oil).

We recognize that it can be tricky to calculate the dose and measure out the right amount of ingredients. So check out our measurement guide for help. And we always recommend starting with a lower dose so that you can have more.

Note dosages are always approximations, please use responsibly.

  1. Shake all ingredients for your chosen variation together in a tightly-lidded container OR whisk together in a small bowl.
  2. Let stand 10 minutes to rehydrate dried herbs and blend flavours.
  3. Shake again then dress salad as desired.

Once you’ve discovered your favourite cannabis salad dressings you can increase the quantity and store in the fridge for the week for convenience. Make sure to store in a properly sealed container and shake again before serving.
